Gathering Protocol

The gathering time allocated on a Monday morning is for a last roundup (strays only) and is not for designed for initial gathering of flocks. We then envisage at least two days clear before sheep being allowed to return to the hill as firing times dictate. 

Graziers must take care when gathering their flocks so as not to disturb flocks on neighbouring walks as this has led to flocks becoming mixed in the past and much more difficult to gather.

If people find that following gathering, a large number of strays, rather than just turning them back out through the hill gate it may be more appropriate to contact the grazier to whom they belong and give him the opportunity to collect them.
